DARFUR/SUDAN 2008 - Lame dunce U.S. president George W. Bush is complaining that the UN is dragging its heels about intervening in the Darfur genocide. In this case, he's absolutely right, but we nevertheless need ask: Why Now? George. It's not as if you ever worried before about asking permission from the U.N. before. For example....Iraq?
The Sudanese government makes Saddam Hussein look like an amateur. Why the lack of interest over the past five years in this little axis of evil?
Since 2003, the Sudanese Government, using Arab "Janjaweed" militias, its air force, and organized starvation, has been systematically killing the black Sudanese of Darfur.

While the world argues about the definition of Genocide, 2 million people have been killied and 4 million are homeless. Their huts and villages have been pillaged and burned and they subsist in grass huts spread in camps on the edge of the Sahara with no access to food, water, clothing, or shelter. Health care is non-existent. Killings and sexual assaults are rampant. These families are on the edge of survival, living in conditions that are unimaginable.
